Japan often has earthquakes so every household should have a disaster kit. One of the important items in a disaster kit is a flashlight. 日本では地震が頻繁に起こるので、どの家庭も災害キットを持っているべきです。災害キットの重要なアイテムの1つは懐中電灯です。
英会話HOPでは、8月に3日間のサマースクールを行いました。
当日は、インドで家庭料理とされる“チャパティ”と“ラッシィー”作りのための買い出しからクッキングを行ったり、また、オンラインツアーでは、生中継でインドのリアルな家の中も見せていただきました。
『牛乳がパックではなく、ビニール袋に入っている』など日本と違う文化に驚くこともいっぱいありましたが、
世界には多様な文化、価値観が存在することを知り、知見が広がる良い経験になったと思っております。

September 1 was Disaster Prevention Day. Every year on this day schools across Japan take a moment of silence to commemorate the victims of the Great Kanto Earthquake in 1923. The students also practiced some safety drills such as staying under their desks during an earthquake. Next time we will learn practically how to prepare disaster kits.
9月1日は防災デーでした。毎年この日、全国の学校は1923年の関東大震災の犠牲者を追悼するために黙祷の時間を取ります。また、地震時には机の下にとどまるなどの安全訓練も行いました。次回は災害用キットをどう準備するか実践しながら学びます。
This year the weather has been very unpredictable. It is wise to think about disaster prevention.
今年は天候が非常に不安定です。防災について考えるのは賢明です。
